6. Ethical Theories Humanitarian: Women have the right to a safe motherhood. This is a women’s right as a human being because everyone has the right to live. Utilitarianism: Securing a women’s right to safe motherhood is a shared interest and benefits herself, her family, and society. Safe motherhood must be understood as a profitable investment.
